UEFA European Championship is a tournament held every 4 years among national teams of UEFA. The first tournament was organized in 1960. The tournament was originally called the UEFA Nations Cup. Since 1968 it has been held under the name of European Championship. The first tournament was held in France and in the final the USSR team won the title of champion, beating the Yugoslav national team with a score of 2:1. The tournament will mark the 60th anniversary in 2020 and will be held for the 16th time in 12 different European cities. The national teams, which are the most champions in the European Championship, are three times each, Spain and Germany. France is the country that hosts the European Championship the most. Three times the name of the strongest of the continent has been clarified in this country. So far, 10 different national teams have won the European Championship. The Azerbaijan national Under-17 football team have defeated the United Arab Emirates 2-0 in a friendly. Baku will host 3 group games of the Championship and 1 match of the 1/4 final round.
